Stop The Stress! The Ways To Keep Calm During Finals Week

It’s finals time. Kicking back with friends and relaxing might not be what you’d associate with the week-long demand of final exams.
 

You’re expected to spend hours staring at a computer screen, reading and jotting down notes. But if you’re truly looking to de-stress, it’s imperative to develop a routine that not only relaxes your brain, but keeps you motivated to start studying all over again. Here are tips to the most stress-free finals week:
 
 


1. Stay off social media.


Deactivate you Facebook or pledge to stay off Twitter and Instagram. Vowing not to use social media during Finals will not only free up time or studying, but it will also keep you from getting preoccupied with the emotions you might experience from your friends’ posts. You can notify all your followers that you’ll be on hiatus and will be returning soon.

2. Schedule a time to study with your friends.


Planning time to socialize with the people you care about is crucial during Finals Week. You’ll feel less anxious being around those who are facing the same challenges as you. Plan a day where you and your friends will hold each other accountable for studying. Take a break together, get lunch or dinner together and quiz each other on any information learned.

3. Do all the things you normally don’t have time for.


Sit outside and relax. Watch a movie. Take a fitness class or take a walk. Attend a meditation club meeting. Read a book. Anything you’ve wanted to do for fun since the semester started but didn’t have time for? Now’s the best time for you to indulge. Without the demanding schedule of classes, you can use these activities as a buffer while you transition into constant-study mode.
